Picked this up a show this weekend. I got it in a combo with a New Jersey copper for $25 total. Happy to add a couple more colonials to my growing collection. Anyways, I am mainly interested in attributing the variety for this coin. I have done my best to try to match the variety based off of what references I have been through already. I believe it is a 1786 dated coin (now changed after edit), bust left obviously...maybe draped bust? I can't find any very positive match as I am just getting into the Miller varieties, so any help with that would be greatly appreciated! I know it might be a tough one since it's worn pretty well. If any further closeups of the coin are needed, don't hesitate to ask. I would be happy to shoot more as requested! -CH27 Collector of U.S. Coins, Varieties, and Colonial Coinage

I collect Connecticuts by die variety, but that one is going to be tough. It isn't a 1786 though, it is a 1787 which is going to be even tougher because there are so many 1787 varieties. It might be doable, I would suggest concentrating on one point that is quite identifiable and then keep narrowing it down. I think it is going to be one of the obverse 33 varieties, but that is still going to be around 100 varieties to go through and the 33 obverses are among the toughest to attribute in the whole series. If I get a chance, I'll have a better look. good luck!

Well, my vision is blurring, but the best I can come up with is I believe it might, might be 33.19-Z.1. I am not completely confident in this, but it is about the best I can do. Sorry, I can't come up with anything more definite, but with the coin in hand, you may be able to hold it at different angles and spot some detail not visible in the photos.

Definitely a project there, but there are several points you could use too narrow it down. The place where the C touches the hair is a good place to start.
