I wouldn't go past AU55. Nice coin.

The coin appears mint state and very poorly struck even by N.O. standards. MS63 is my guess.

This coin looks very close to mint state; just minor luster disruption on the cheek and in the fields. It has possibly the worst strike I've seen on a Morgan but that doesn't mean it's worn.
I'd go AU-58, with below-average eye appeal due to the poor strike.

When people ask what a weakly-struck New Orleans Morgan looks like, show them this coin!!

Points well taken. The strike is clearly very poor just judging from the obverse.

Yep this is the worst strike on a Morgan I have ever seen as well, in hand it looks UNC.

NGC graded another one similar to this as: Weak Strike Mint Error.

Im wondering if it brings any sort of premium.

Beat me to the punch.

I agree, it's UNC. I'll join the MS-63 parade.

Count me in on this being the weakest strike I've ever seen on a morgan. Technical 63 but the strike will keep it to 62 at best IMO

Wouldn't a weak strike show weak rims? Could it be a Struck Through Grease?

Looks to be some clashing going on, so vamworld.com can help pin down which VAM you have... with others, probably weakly struck.

Definitely seems to have a weak strike-I'll say MS-63 if mint state, and AU-58 if not.
Rest in Peace

MS63. The New Orleans mint was a pancake house for several years.

As for the VAM it looks like an EDS example of VAM-1F.

a little too much glare to assess properly but many 88(O)'s were weakly struck which appears to be the case here. my first thought was AU58 but what appears to be wear is from strike. probably will fall into the MS63 box but I would not pay 63 $$ for it as there are better examples in that grade available.
