Agree, post strike damage. May have been exposed to high heat--like a hobby grade butane torch. The 'bright spot' on the east edge may have been where something was holding the coin while it was being roasted.

I too was thinking heat damage. Definitely post mint damage.

Is there something covering the surfaces, like nail polish, varnish, soda syrup? Either way it is spender. The original surface has left a long time ago.
