Lol why does the D look funny? Is that normal? Same with the E, just wondering if that's normal. Why would the L be on the rim? And I'm not sure what happened to his ear. The E idk (someone else should chime in) The L close to the rim (normal for year) created by a old worn out master die which was in use for many previous years (I believe) and was changed out in 58. Weak AME and O and parts of E.PLU ribus was caused by a Grease Filled Die (a small and common error) Good luck on future finds, have fun and keep asking when needed.... Report this Post to the Staff

If just one area is flattened, it is probably a coin damage issue from a contact mark from an outside source. The weakness on the 'O' is like the weakness of the States seen on the memorial cents. Metal movement gone wrong, either from lack of metal, or a Struck Through Grease issue. (On both cases of this happening) Your coin appears to be from a normal die pair. Nothing of a premium except being a Wheat cent with little damage from circulation. (no varieties that I can see) Report this Post to the Staff
