Can anyone tell me whats up with this coin?
The face side edges are rounded and the reverse side seems to have been almost melted. But the image is barely legible.

Hard to tell from those photos exactly what happened but it is not an error.
What you describe could not have happened during the striking of the coin.

Also do not hold coins in your hand. Place coin on a flat surface to shoot.
Also by cropping your photos, it will help enlarge them.

With any hint of damage, the coin turns into a cull coin and now just a face value coin.

Nothing in the minting process would do this. It's just post mint damage.

One of the best indicators of this coin having post mint damage is the lack of rims. Hard to tell how exactly this damage occurred as it would only be a guess, but in the end, damage is just damage. Coins led a rough life once minted.
