I found this in my change today . It's bicentennial quarter . It has a lot of damage and pieces missing . The "in " god we trust is stamped in between the die break .

There is no way for that to happen during the striking of the coin.

Ok that's what I wanted to confirm , but my question why is the "in" god we trust still visible . Shouldn't have it been removed or worn off if it was pmt? If you zoom in you can still see the "in" . That part of the quarter is very thin compared to the rest
