They're all mostly cleaned or polished coins, graded himself at MS-65 selling for hundreds of dollars. The one pictured made me laugh the most. $182 for MS-65 looks harshly polished.

Yes, heavily polished. Notice how he says MS65 and then says "looks BU". The guy is a doofus.

I would think the person who bid $147.50 is the true doofus.

Is the plural of doofus, "doofi"?

Actually more proof that there are way too many uneducated numismatists out there . Always found it remarkable that someone would spend hundreds or more on a coin but not a penny on a Coin reference book . I am afraid the buyers of this stuff richly deserve what happens to them in this scenario !

When you go through the "sold" listings from the 2 links above, there were 2 or more bidders on the ones that were grossly overpaid. I think that there a lot of unused reference books laying around, unopened.

Oh me oh my... This is an interestingly exciting thread here ... Now my 1907-H cent is AU condition, nice chocolate brown color, and ironically is in higher grade than mr-doofus BU condition one, Now these are whizzed coins obviously .

There is something funny about this seller and the listings. Virtually every coin has multiple bids, almost all of which are such commonplace items, like nickel dollars, that dealers have trouble selling at all for heavy discounts on the list price. All the copper coins look cleaned.

With what he's selling for maybe he will but this super polished 1cent for 100$. I think I paid a little over 2$ for it lol. Compared to this one though I'd say it would only pass as AU:p
