I agree MD. As to how common this location is for that to occur, I honestly haven't thought much about that. For sure the date comes up quite a bit.

It's common around the outer devices. To just have it in the BER seems strange to me.

I always refer to it as Machine Doubling, rather an Mechanical Doubling. Whats the difference? Well a machine is mechanical, but the use in motion is a machine. Thus it is called Machine Doubling, by operation of a machine in motion. Not a mechanical in motion. Just seems weird to put it that way.
