Ladies and Gentlemen, I have for your enjoyment a very bright 1963 P Lincoln Cent. The coin is difficult to properly display in Picts (took an hour experimenting with varying lighting schemes) and tough to identify by using Copper Coins. I apologize for the number of pictures. There are 21 levels of doubled dies listed for obverse and 20 listed for reverse! I looked at all of them and found some matches but not a complete match. To complicate matters both sides have ridge rings which cloud the identifiers. I am unsure about the reverse having any DDR and the obverse looks like Die Deterioration. Also the coin is worn as well. So I throw it open for discussion. Regards and have fun.

not a complete match

@all, rather than make us go back through everything you've done, perhaps you could share your work? Which specific one(s) seems close? Or are you thinking since none appear to be a match that it is just MD?

Unsure, thats why I came to the community! I won't rule out MD, but that term normally stops all mental process because It's an easy out.

I don't see a doubled die on this cent. It might be the glare from the type of scope you are using that is making it look like it has split serifs. Keep hunting!

This to me looks like a proof strike.

Proof like maybe, but I don't think it is a proof coin, the fields are too, umm, rough - not mirror like.

allcoinsaregood, it is important to realise that not all coins are error (or variety) coins. If you didn't find a match, we are unlikely to as well. If you think it is a match, please give us a reference number and/or a link to it. You have a nice coin, they're getting tougher to find in the wild.

Better pics needed. Looks like an ordinary uncirculated cent for this date so far.
