Please describe the doubling. Being a rookie, I don't see doubling. What did you see initially that told you there was doubling on this coin. I'm not disagreeing with you, just trying to learn. Thanks in advance. RP

On wheat cents, reverse doubling is most commonly (but not always) found on EPU.

On this cent you can see the first dot, between E & P, is elongated. You can also see the bottom of the E, L & U are thicker than normal.

That sometimes looks like circulation flattening, but notice the top of the U and L are not fatter than normal, which indicates it's doubling and not flattening.

@Coinquestador1
I was told if the DOT between E • PLURIBUS • UNUM was egg shaped. It was a DDR and if you look at the foot of the E and The L it is very fat!

Looks like DDR-002 but you can fairly easily verify that by looking at the mint mark positions of the three strong DDR's from this year on VV.

IMO it's not doubling.
It's a later die state.

I think it IS a DDR. I can see the 'snowman effect' on the dots and a thickening of the bottom of the L and U. I do believe that Tropicalbats had just posted a coin with the same type of doubling.

Definitely class 6 doubling on EPU and that right wheat stem has elephantitis. Congrats.

A later die state might cause Die Deterioration between the letters and the rim or other "mushiness", but this one is a DDR with honest circulation.
Words of encouragement are one of the major food groups.
We need to consume them regularly to thrive and grow.
