Hi everyone's! So I've studied this coin for weeks because I'm told this error does not exist. Someone said it is glue but that's not the case. This Looks legit to me. What are your thoughts?

My thoughts are that whoever told you this was glue was correct. Definitely not a mint error.

Also, welcome to CCF!

100% glue. Soak it in water first, then if that doesn't do it soak in acetone. This has fooled many of us at one time or another.

to CCF. It is glue or epoxy. 100% pure acetone soak, but acetone does not remove all types of adhesive. Not a mint error for sure.

You can even see where the glue is beginning to break away in the area of the date.

Elmers glue you can see through. So that is what it is. Not a mint error. Just an altered coin.

The give-away is, first, the backwards lettering, and second, errors like this simply do not happen, period. Without question, glue of some sort.

Yes good point. I was gonna fix it and then figured no one would notice the typo. Fixed now though.
