MS Details Cleaned. There is a lack of consistent luster on obverse and reverse. The cheek, neck, and the fields above the ONE contain hairlines.

Just out of curiosity, are you buying this coin for a type set, date set, or just for fun?

I question the surface originality on this one, but could just be the pics. Some cabinet rub noticeable in the obverse. AU58-MS63, If in hand pics reveal better surfaces.

AU58 or MS63 however I have to agree that at that level the coin should not look this dull especially the reverse. could be the photos though. I'm not seeing any signs of circulation so MS63 imo details (cleaned)

It's priced slightly below Numismedia AU58. I can't tell much from the pictures. Light scratches above ONE might indicate circulation. It's Obverse 2 Reverse 3 - if you want a fun project, try collecting all the transition varieties 1899-1905.

IMHO, the lifelessness is the photo, not the coin. When I adjusted the photo, I saw good luster and fairly normal surfaces. It's AU-58, with very little circulation. LDS, with 3 obverse and 5 reverse die cracks. Pretty decent strike for the die state. The price looks spot on. Why not? What's to lose?

I think it has luster and some cabinet rub and would straight grade but I don't know how to grade these so I'll leave that to you all .
