It looks like a die chip alright, the second pic. looks like a lamination problem and worn die on the 3. Post mint damage on the i.

I agree with die chip on first photo, the second photo I don't think is a lamination, maybe a die clash remnant or some kind of a die crack, also neither of these would be an error they are varieties.

not to start this arguement all over again but die chips, die cracks, clashes, and laminations are not varieties. they are all errors and most have very little value. the raised forehead is due to multiple die cracks causing a piece of the die to recede and therefor the ares is raised.

I would agree the 1st photo is a die chip or a broken die or gouge leaving the raised look, the 2nd also a gouge from the die being broken, just my opinion...

The first coin appears to show a die gouge or a narrow die dent. The second coin is a "cracked skull" Lincoln Cent. Die cracks in the head have linked up and permitted a portion of the die face to sink in, leaving an elevation on the coin.

On the second image you can tell there is heavy die wear. Look at the 3 in the date. Looks just like the "so Called" poor man's 1955 doubled die (Which it isn't)but just heavy die wear. So it doesn't surprise me with the die break on the head as the die is wearing down more each strike.
