Is this Die Deterioration on TRUST and Machine Doubling on the 9? Deciphering doubling is not easy when you are just starting out...

Full, large and sharp photos of the coin's obverse and reverse would really help us better determine what's going on. Given the one photo posted, It would appear there is some Die Deterioration Doubling in TRUST. The 9 appears to have taken a circulation hit at the lower tip.

I agree as well, DDD and the 9 took a circulation hit.

Die wear. If this were a DDO, then the lower part of the devices would be showing the same thing. But it is not. Just the area between the devices and the out edge of the devices are affected.

You can had spread on just the tops of the devices, but most of the time it will be die wear as the die wear makes that area fill in:

Just extreme die wear.
