Please let me start by saying I need someone to direct me to information on a coin I can't figure out. My computer is still down so I'm unable to post pictures but if one of you will email Me I will be more than happy to allow them to post pictures so everyone has an opportunity to respond. For. Now I will describe the coin in question it is a 1793 flowing hair with what appears to be Liberty's neck being torn to shreds in the wind it also has what seems to be a die crack starting between the 7-9 of the date moving N/NE with several others branching off of it terminating into what look like grapes in a bunch . As for the reverse there appears to be what look like the 1794 starred reverse I know crazy. Anyway any information on this coin is greatly appreciated thanks guys. You are seeing things. This not the flowing hair design of 1793, nor is it the liberty cap design of 1793-1796. It is the draped bust design used from 1796-1807. This coin is heavily corroded.

Tangential question - do these USB microscopes not have the ability to take an image directly from the microscope? I see so many pictures of computer screens and they're all pretty worthless. Just wondering.

Yes it can take pics unfortunately my computer crashed so I had to do it this way sorry for the offense of your eyes unfortunately those of us who are but simple people can't afford to just go buy when we want rather we are forced to make due with what we have so next time I will place a warning so tender eyes aren't hurt looking at them As for what I see yes the pictures don't reflect it but it is just as I claim and I will be sending it Monday thanks for the input

Spencerj72, Your PM is not turned on here on CCF. You might need 50 posts to do that? John1

I see nothing but an absolutely normal, well circulated, corroded draped bust cent. That is definitely not a1793 obverse, nor is it a 1794 reverse, starred or non-starred.

Well I guess since you guys didn't like this one I will try again next week with one that looks more inline with what you are expecting one to look like I mean really it shouldn't be that hard to find another strawberry leaf with the low one cent but without a starred reverse right Let me see what I can come up with I'll get back to you guys in a few days

I believe there are only about 4 known examples of the 1793 strawberry leaf cent. Seems unlikely that you have one.
It would be helpful to post full face images of your coin, both sides, focused, and well-lit. The close-ups are difficult to evaluate.

Quote: next time I will place a warning so tender eyes aren't hurt looking at them Nothing to do with "tender eyes" - pictures of a screen are generally of so poor quality as to be worthless for determining anything other than very obvious coin features, such as this being a draped bust cent.

What is the weight and diameter of the coin? A 1793 would be smaller in diameter but thicker and heavier than a draped bust. What about the edge? A draped bust cent would have a plain edge whereas a 1793 would not. When attributing coins you need to look at and state all the facts, not just see what you want to see.
