That is rather interesting some type of clash but very misaligned In hand it would prob be easier to see more of the details of the anomaly on the vest above the head and the left of the banner you showed.

Thanks for looking folks. gorham_collector, the orientation and even what it's from has me very confused. It kind of looks like the end of the scroll, with the rounded finish. Here are a few more pics to maybe help. I took an angle pic that shows it is either a dual clash or maybe a clash with MD? I noticed some MD elsewhere and on VDB and could not think of a reason why the clash could not have MD too, it's on the die that makes the coin and the coin is then manipulated during the strike. I'm out of town the next few days and have limited resources to work with here but if anyone needs any other pics, I'll do my best.

I did an over lay of your two pics and rotated one and played with transparency couldn't find thing that would make caps on the front. Might try moving it around see if it could be a tilted misaligned clash or something

it looks more like a scrape, slipped scratch contact mark than a clash. in my opinion it is a PMD

Thank you for doing the work, on this one. I have not given up on this one yet.

As I have went through my time with searching coins, over the last few years and learning from folks just like you, I have taken time to pick things apart a little more before I jump to conclusions. I may be wrong but am still working with this one and may come back to this thread but the general consensus, at the moment, is damage. The shapes are messing with me, they seem too conformed. Maybe they have been made by something with a design, a coin or something else but does not look like random damage, which is not what you said, either. Thanks for your input though.
