I bought this coin from a dealer website. There were scuffed or hazy areas on both sides of the slab. The haze over the eagle's tail on the reverse was especially bad. I read old threads on CCF which discussed slab repair using a product called PlastX. So, I bought a bottle from Amazon. It took some elbow grease but it did fix the problem pretty well. Here are before and after photos.

I can recommend this product. It did what I wanted it to do!

That's quite an improvement. Well done, Jaobler.

I've been using PlastX for a while on car headlights and other clear plastics. I first tried it on a TPG slab maybe a year or so ago, and was quite pleased with how much it helped.

I'm not a plastic collector so I'd have simply take the coin out of the slab.

I use S100, the motorcycle windshield polish. Same thing and end result, no more scratches. An added tip, if you haven't already, a Dremel with a buffer attachment works excellent for the stubborn scratches.
