I do about a box of pennies a week and I save everything 1982 and prior. Trying to fill my fathers collection. My question is what would you do with the later years that I have kept by year that are in ms63+ most nearer MS 65. Would you hold these, sell them by roll on ebay, or send them packing to the bank. I have so many in penny tubes I am running out of space. Just curios what other roll searcher's do?

You could try selling the best of the very best on ebay--perhaps in tubes. After checking for any notable errors/varieties, of course. The rest get deposited at the bank.

Personally, I wouldn't keep too many post-1982s. Those Zincolns are just so reactive and riddled with spots and other quality issues. Even if they're MS-63 now, I question what they will look like in 20 or 30 years, unless stored in a tightly controlled environment.

I pretty much agree with you. Penny metal quality went to heck after 1982 even tho I have many shiny like new ones 1983 forward. The zinc will just not hold up. Thanks for the input

I've held on to some zinc core cents which fall into various categories: those in MS67 or better condition, those having strong natural-looking toning, errors/varieties, and those so horribly/uniquely damaged that they are oddly attractive.

If you keep all the dates after 82 you'll have a small fortune in coins when your a bit over 200 years old.

I have a jar marked BU, I hand pick (1960 and higher)only the very best of each year, pennies with no scratches or marks, you won't find very many of these, and put in that jar to sell later. The rest go to coin star to cash out and get money back. I also have a jar with just 1959 in it. I keep all wheats, some junk ones really damaged get send to coin star, I just recently sent 4,500 junk wheats to coin star

This is pretty much what I do. How is the best way to sell your coins? I am struggling with this. I have placed errored coins on ebay in excellent condition with DD or mint error and no luck. Pennies priced around $1.50 and quarters around $3.50 which I felt was not out of line for errored coins. Any thoughts.
