Looks like MD also with circulation flattening. the metal is smashed down and actually closing yup the center of the D as well.

Happened on those quarters. the mint mark is full filed after strike.

It is known as a broken post.

Machine doubling--looking at the left-most edge of the D. Appears to be MD on the 6 as well--can't be certain because of light reflection in the photo.

Look on the devices on the left side of the coin on the motto area. You should see the same thing there on the that area on the left side of the devices?
