This is an interesting one. The coin is copper, coming in at 3.10g, and plated in such a way that it has excellent cartwheel luster. If it weren't for some copper showing through around the rim this one could easily be mistaken for an off-metal strike, although struck on exactly what I couldn't guess.

Just face value. Adding s coating to a coin makes it a face value value to the coin.

Coop, well, yes, value is one cent, if you disregard the educational value of the coin to demonstrate that just because a coin has pretty cartwheel luster doesn't mean that it isn't a counterfeit. That's what I was getting at and why I posted.

BATS, I like your topic. What I will wrote it is for educational purpose.

I will start what it is CART WHEEL EFFECT. This it is an effect of the coin luster more accentuated on use DIE. Better to see on silver big diameter coin then small. It is present to any kind of coins and could be see only if the coin is tilt in a spot light and give an effect of wheel rotation. It is see from the center of the coin versus the dark side. The test is done in dark room with light spot directed on the center of the coins. Those oblique lines are microscopic and could not be seen on photos. This it is the cartwheel effect, and most important: it is a norm to certify a coin been MINT, and damage the major certifying companies do not look anymore for (I do not know about ANAC).

Now back to your coin: The 3.1 gr show that original was a cooper 1982 legitim coins (I do not look to see if it is a large or small date). the line we see must be from a polishing before plating. This coin could be one of the coins which we can see on Etsy at 63,761.69 $ (hehehe).

I thank you posting this one because people must see and be vigilant when buy something.

Great post and hope I was usefully.

PS. This year I receive only 2 videos from third party to give my opinion on this matter.
