I like to do a recap of my year collecting, so today I'll revisit 2021.

If 2020 could be summed up, it was the year I got serious about US currency.

If 2021 could be summed up, it isn't so easy. Yes I got serious with the 7070.

I picked up some great coins:

I rediscovered a love for the country I was born in. Both in coins.

But there wasn't an overwhelming focus, I took a detour to get the Morgan and Peace dollars.

I stopped the 7070 at the end of the year as everything left was not at a price/visual appeal range that I had to finish it at the moment. I almost completed a 20th century set (well 81% was already part of the 7070).

I also realized that I'm not a fan of JFK 50 cents.

So does this mean I matured as a collector, I don't think so. I still buy items that I find visually appealing. Whether its slabbed.

or raw.

I was recently asked when I was going to get "serious" in my collecting goals, and the answer I'm going to collect what I like, in the end its my collection.

As to 2022, I'll revisit in 2023, as my goals may change.

Thanks all for following my journey.

When you're other hobby, involves a telescope, motorized focuser, a guide scope, a monochrome camera, a filter wheel, 7 different filter, multiple nights of taking pictures (all the time following the movement of the sky), a mount and a sequence to capture all that data...

Revisiting-2021-And-My-Collection

And then taking those hundreds of pictures, combining the false color images into an object you like...

Revisiting-2021-And-My-Collection

And then combining the images into a different color pallet (RGB on top and Hubble Pallet below)

Revisiting-2021-And-My-Collection

Taking pictures of a coin that doesn't move isn't that hard

Comet Leonard was very low in the Horizon, followed by almost 2 weeks of clouds.

I did capture comet Neowise back in 2019.
