Found a nice unlisted pre CUD/spike head combo, searching bank rolls today.

looks like a die crack, but does it reach the rim at the other end that you are not showing to make it a pre Cud?

They are two different cracks. The first closeup, is at the base of the bust and is the pre Cud and the second closup pic, is the spike head, at the very top of the coin, totally unrelated. I took an angled pic of the pre Cud with arrows that may show it better.

On a Retained Cud, there is movement of the die crack area. I'm Just seeing a rim to rim crack and a chip so far. No movement of the affected area yet.

coop, that is why I referred to it as a "pre Cud" and not a Retained Cud. The definition of a pre Cud is exactly what you said, "a rim to rim crack".
