Wheat penny roll. Usually the shiny are 1950-1958. This one looks cleaned to me, what y'all think?

The dark areas could be carbon spots. They are inside of the planchet. They do not go away. They get worse with time.

Note the pretty toning? It is from the carbon spot on the rim at 10:00 of the coin:

Probably cleaned, definitely environmental damage.

Environmental damage and someone tried to scrub all that black away . I would throw it in my Wheat cent cull box .

From metallurgical point of view:

If your photo show relative color of the coin it is clean and also R and O show small parallel lines, like some how the coin was polish.

Coop has a really point about the black spots with heavy C, This could be the planchet or like could be due to the cleaning process as well.

I will go more versus carbon residue from cleaning process.
