@int, first welcome to CCF. Second, it looks to me like someone has intentionally ground down the rims on this dime. It isn't an error therefore and is only worth face value.

Also, I just noticed it doesn't have the reeded edge or, at least much of one.

Agree with all above--post-strike damage. We see coins very much like this one two or three times a week on this forum.

just intentional damage
why do people do this? I think it is an attempt to create an error coin that could potentially be sold to an unsuspecting buyer. (Just go look for error coins on Etsy.)
