Hello community. This 1965 quarter weigh 5.3 grams. Was wondering why?

Well, mint spec is 5.67 g, so it could be a combination of heavy circulation wear and low end flan at minting.

Don't forget there is a +- tolerance of .19g plus your reading is only to 1
decimal point. The quarter is also worn which accounts for weight loss.
