I found this 1974 Dime with no mint mark. From reading research, it seems this Dime is a rare find, but only if it has a very clear "full band" on the Torch. There are no Dimes ever reported for comparison. Does the Torch looks okay enough to you guys for it to qualify for grading? What are your thoughts on this Dime? Thank you so much.

Where in your research did you think this is a rare find. There were over 470 million struck with no mint mark. And sorry but that is not even close to a Full Torch. What you have is a well worn dime worth 10 cents.

To CCF , Ok what you have is a circulated and damaged Dime with absolutely no FT,FB . The absence of a mint mark is that it was produced in Philly . Your coin is a spender .

That is for a rare MS67 graded coin. If you read the whole page, you would see that there are less than two dozen known examples of that grade. Yours is nowhere near that grade.

This and other modern coin are fairly common, unless it is pull from the day that it went to the bank, it has to be in Mint State in order to qualify to be above face value, and then you also need it to be certified by NGC or PCGS. The PCGS coin-facts clearly shows the coin value in them grades.

Thank you all. My heart went thumpy-tump when I found it in grandma's collection. Oh well, back to searching.

Here is a MS-64 example that someone spent $50 to have slabbed. Note the value of this coin: https://www.PCGS.com/cert/42106677?...-gaNycGzNDb0$6.00. So what will they get for the $50 in vestment. I doubt even less that the $6.00. The grading companies are the ones making the big money.

I can't even see the bands at the bottom of the torch. This is just a normal worn dime.

Keep searching and researching. And keep posting questions to this forum. It can be painful when you find something you think is rare and valuable, but these folks have tons of expertise and will tell you the truth (even if it hurts). Good luck!
