Just what ARE you guys talking about?......
I see no evidence whatsoever, up above here in this thread, of these specific numbers you keep referring to !

Oh !....and by the way.....did you all know that we will have a record number of new U.S. coins going into circulation this year, including the four new Lincoln Cent designs, four Presidential dollars, the newly-redesigned Sacagawea dollar reverse, and six Territory Quarters. This is in addition to the standard nickels, dimes, and half dollars the Mint produces. The 2009 Uncirculated Mint Set will contain a whopping 36 coins!

HIP HIP !........

i have heard rumor of them being copper like the pre 82 LMC's

NOPE !.....Sadly that's not true.....this is from the Mint.
Reverse inscriptions will continue to include "United States of America," "E Pluribus Unum" and "One Cent." And the four 2009 Abraham Lincoln one-cent coins will maintain the same metal content (2.5% copper, balance zinc) and other specifications as the current one-cent coin.

But I'd be nice if that "Special Set" contained Pre-'82 Coppers huh ?
The "Special Set" that has just the four Proof Lincolns and the Lincoln Silver dollar that will only have 50,000 Sets produced.

The mint is authorized to make 2009 cents with the pre-1982 copper content for numismatic purposes. It seems logical to me that, if not for all proof issues, at least the Silver Proof set should have copper cents since that is the "precious metal" set.

OKAY........I'm DONE !......
I went back and read the very next paragraph underneath the one I retreived earlier...

Quote:
These coins will be issued for circulation in quantities to meet the demands of commerce. In addition, the Secretary of the Treasury shall mint and issue numismatic one-cent coins in 2009 with the exact metallic content as contained in the 1909 one-cent coin (95% copper, 5% tin and zinc). These numismatic versions will be included in the United States Mint's annual product offerings.

No more getting on CCF when I'm working on designing/pricing buildings, dealing with customers, jobsite problems. NO MORE getting on CCF when I average 4 and a half hours of sleep and am sooooo tired everday that I can't remember my own name !

The "Coppers" will be in Silver Proof Sets, Proof Sets, Uncirculated Sets, American Legacy Sets, and the Special Lincoln Sets and/or whichever Sets they'll include them in.
Still.....only 50,000 of the "Special Lincoln Sets" will be produced !
Super fast sell out maybe ?

The US Mint will reserve 50,000 coins from the 500,000 maximum authorized mintage for inclusion within a special set. This set will feature proof versions of all four 2009 Lincoln Cents and the proof version of the 2009 Lincoln Commemorative. This set has not been listed on the US Mint's product release schedule, but should be available in the spring.

Hi guys! I'm new to coins and am wondering if you can tell me where I can get this new lincon set -

also - I'm looking at the commemorative Lincoln Bronze smaller bronze that is on the US Mint now (I love the look of them). Are these decent collectors items?

Thanks to everybody for your advice. I would love to lear more about the new set.

Also - what is the best way to be sure I get some of the new coins? Is it the mint website? I see the Silver is set for 2/12 release.

You can get it at the mint website, https://www.usmint.gov/catalog

or... ebay, but those might be doctored, lost, late, etc etc so just buy it from the mint
