We've all seen examples of Rim Cuds on various coins and denominations, this one is surprisingly large and I stumbled upon it while CRHing. Thought to share it with you.

I just checked the COC site and yes, it is listed as CU-50c-1971D-01.

Rim Cud. What causes rim Cuds?
1971-D-Kennedy-Half-With-Quite-A-Large-Rim-Cud
This will help you see what causes these. The gutter breaks off the die. (this example is a simulation, not the real die issue) Thus the rise of the rim on just that area.
