Could someone advise me about this coin? From the images you can see the 3rd digit is missing from the date. Also there is a dot after the date = 19 9.

Guessing this is the product of a grease-filled die, plus a possible die chip?

Odd place for a die chip though, right?

Check to see if the V.D.B. is present on the shoulder?
If not, then it is not a 1909.
If there are no dots, just VDB, (no dots) then it is a 1939 or 1949.

If the dots are between the V.D.B, then it could be a 1919, or 1929.

Hello all & thankyou for your replies. I have checked with a jeweller's eye glass & it looks like V.D.B. on the shoulder. I do not have the right gear for photographing detail but I attach image of the shoulder as best I can get. How can I find out what the exact date should be?
