These are frequently called bag marks, although they don't always occur in a bag. The more there are, the lower the grade, at least in theory.

if those dots are raised, they're probably die chips, though unusual ones, or if incuse, then just dings from other coins

I don't see how it could be reed damage because nickels don't have reeds.

no, but quarters and half dollars do have reeds, who is to say that this coin didn't co-mingle?

Contact marks, aye. Yes, co-mingling can (and does) allow for Reeding Marks to appear on non-reeded coins. Not saying it happened here, just saying it does happen.

The coin came from an obw roll. I don't think it made it into loose change yet.
