Hello everyone

I think I've identified this medal correctly - it's very worn on one side, but the other shows enough detail for it to be recognisable.
Could I ask (forgive my naivety, I'm very new to this) - does anyone know if these were only made out of silver? This one doesn't look like silver to me, but I'm not sure how to tell. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Also, we are looking to sell this coin - if anyone had any suggestions as to a good start-price at auction, your help would be greatly appreciated again.

Thanks in advance, all the best!

@ocky, while there are a variety of types, many if not all seem to be made from copper alloys. Here is a link to the acsearch pages that I'm using for this info. If you scroll down far enough you will see an example of what looks like this specific type.

With this degree of corrosion, I wonder if your example spent time in the ground or perhaps saltwater.

Many thanks for this @Spence. Helpful to know it's not silver! Would you have any idea of value, or is this not the place on the forum to discuss that? There seem to be lots of places to post, please forgive me if my asking that isn't what I should do here! Best wishes.
