Is this quarter an error or is it worn. I think it could be an error.

I'm thinking that it is worn - from being an ender inside a roll of other quarters. See that circular scratch around the surface of the coin? That is caused by an automated coin rolling machine. The material that was rolled up and under the the rolling paper put pressure on the coin and wore it down. So, I'm guessing that this roll of quarters was assembled a while ago and through movement rubbed the design down. the Bicentennials are a favorite one to save and may have been rolled up long ago.

(Just a theory)

to CCF. Looks like PMD. Always a good idea to post full coin pics front and back along with one or two close ups when and where needed. Also helpful to tell us in detail what your question is,what you are seeing.

The circular lines are damage from a coin wrapper. Just a spender. The damage makes it a cull coin. Just a face value coin that is damaged.

Would like to see the reverse side as well. Could be a Greaser.

The circular line running across the top of GW's head looks like coin wrapper damage, but LIBERTY, IGWT and the first half of the date don't look like PMD to me.

Extensive grease in the die could be the explanation, but I'd like to see the other side of the coin as well.
