Yes happy D Day guys.

Let us not forget these though, Ireland also adopted decimal currency as well on February 15th 1971.

The new Celtic art designs were the only new ones for the Irish decimal coinage to this point, as the old designs were used on the 5, 10 and 50 Pingin coins.

And the next two English coins, the 5 and 10 New Pence, introduced in 1968! But until D day circulated as 1 and 2 shillings.

Happy Decimal Day, irish and British CCF members!

Also, Malawi decimalised on today or yesterday in the same year 1972.

Shilling and Florin circulated as 5p and 10p up to 1990's when Ireland and the UK reduced the sizes of 5p and 10p coins.
