So first off I could swear that I've seen a Wheat cent, maybe the same year, with this same error, but when looking recently no luck, but I'm sure I've seen something like this before... Anyhow first thing that caught my eye was the extra tail coming out of the 9 in the date... Upon a closer inspection it almost looks as if the 5 & 3 display this same anomaly, except not as evident, but it's in the exact same spot... It also appears to be a RPM as it's easiest to see the line from the other D on the inside... It also looks like there is either light doubling going on in some of the letters, but I guess could be heavy Machine Doubling? And then also what I think is a small lamination error on the reverse right side wheat stalk towards the top... So that's what I think I'm seeing along with what I'm not sure that I'm seeing, and as always would greatly appreciate any ideas or if someone happens to know what it is or has seen this issue before... Thank you for your time as always!

@smack, yes an interesting Wheat cent. Here is what I see—the number 9 has taken a hit which has moved over a sliver of metal to form that second "tail". The other numbers in the date have minor circulation hits. You can check the varietyvista website, but that doesn't look like a RPM to me on first sight. On the rev, I agree that something happened to that wheat stalk at the mint. My initial though is struck through a copper flake, but it might rather be a flattened die chip instead. Laminations seem to affect large areas of a coin.

@Spence thank you, I appreciate your feedback and knowledge that you gave...i didn't know that laminations weren't smaller events... The more I learn everyday allows me to realize how little I truly know...

I agree with Spence. You can see the gouge out of the tail of the 9 immediately SE of the sliver that is offset. And the wheat ear looks like a strike thru, but could be a die chip.
