I do not have this one in hand yet but think its a nice example for the assigned grade of a tough VAM

It is straight graded but I do not have it yet to pass my judgement in hand.
I saw larger pics that where not so fuzzy but they wouldn't fit the frame to load on here.

This one is NGC XF-45
Everyone that guessed was close.
Probably clearer pictures would help justify the XF-45 grade .
We will se once she arrives though.

I agree with a 40-45 grade. Just wanted to add that this is one of my favorite VAM's to cherrypick and this is a really nice example compared to most, although I do like it when there's a bit more contrast so the "BERT" clash really pops out on the reverse.

The whole 1A die progression is an interesting study series in and of itself. The Liberty Seated dimes struck at NO in 1891 also have some varieties with serious clashing and transfer, and a couple of "shattered die" reverses as well, leading one to suspect that quality control at the no mint was certainly not a priority of the era, to say the least.

new photos agree with assigned grade. I think you are correct about the initial set not showing the coin correctly and thus the grades received
