I agree with a 40-45 grade. Just wanted to add that this is one of my favorite
VAM's to cherrypick and this is a really nice example compared to most, although I do like it when there's a bit more contrast so the "BERT" clash really pops out on the reverse.
The whole 1A die progression is an interesting study series in and of itself. The Liberty
Seated dimes struck at NO in 1891 also have some varieties with serious clashing and transfer, and a couple of "shattered die" reverses as well, leading one to suspect that quality control at the
no mint was certainly not a priority of the era, to say the least.
