I-Sure-Would-Like-To-Put-This-Question-To-Rest-For-Me-About-Scuff-Marks-And-Grading

I apologize for continuing to ask so, this is it. These marks on chin and in field are scuff marks therefore unwise to grade? Correct? Only visible at this angle.

Scuff marks don't automatically eliminate a coin from being graded.

It will impact the subjective part of the grading, but I don't think it stops the coin from being graded and/or slabbed. (Especially on Morgans)

Petespockets55...i dont think the OP is asking if the coin would grade, I think he is asking if its unwise to send in a common coin to have it graded and slabbed

to answer the question (and I'm not someone who slabs my coins) but I couldnt justify the costs of grading unless I was fairly certain the coin would grade at a level that would be worth it.

for this coin specifically if you are trying to pull a 67 I dont think it would make it, however, the whole coin both sides need to be presented for assessment

Without seeing the rest of the coin, I think the visible scuff marks would preclude a 67. So yes, probably unwise to send for grading.

ALL distractions affect the grade, it's just a matter of "how" distracting they are.

There are scuffs, and then there are scuffs.
