My only question is why in the heck would you send this coin in to PCGS ? Keep in mind I'm not an error collector .

Just curious to see if something was wrong with the coin. It cost me less than two ribeyes to find out. Some people collect woodgrain coins and if this straight graded it may be worth something. It is definitely an oddball coin. I haven't seen another like it. Have any of you guys? I always enjoy when you comment thank you a bunch. You keep me laughing whether you are trying to or not

I've seen all kinds of woody coins, including a few similar to yours.

To be honest, if you're not going to post better pics all these topics are pretty pointless.

I guess so, I am trying to take picture through thru the plastic and can't seem to focus on it any better. I tried for awhile. I guess my wording could have been better also. With such a color disparity it may have looked fake. I have seen many pictures of woodgrain Lincolns. . I have only got serious about Lincolns in the last year and have not looked at Lincolns most of my adult life and I am old. I was just wondering if serious coin people thought PCGS would straight grade or detail it in some way. That's what I was shooting for. My wording was poor

I am glad it straight graded. Super weak reverse. Half of the O of ONE CENT was polished clean off. Thought that might have 98'ed it. 24 dollar curiosity is what it cost besides 12 dollars for the coin itself 18 years ago. AU-58 or ms 62 about same grade I am told?

i guess there are some that collect these, however, it does lower the pool of possible buyers which tends to reduce the value. I can see why they graded it at MS62. when you look at the date/mm, top of the head and RTY you can see the coin is definitely MS but I would prefer a nice AU58 than a FUGLY MS62. I can say it is unique
photos poor on this one but I've had similar issues shooting through a slab. its not easy without the proper setup. one thing I found that can help is actually hold it between your fingers and tilt or rotate the coin until its in focus. you can always rotate the photo after if needed.
