I'll start from afar.
When I took part in the secret Santa game on this forum and started looking for suitable coins for a gift, I found that I had absolutely no coins of the area that the person to whom I should send collects and that's fine. Then, on the advice of many, I started looking for silver coins, but I didn't have many of them either.
After I thought about it and decided that I needed to turn my eyes to the silver coins of the world and I bought a few.
Due to the latest political news and ruble inflation, I realized that investing in silver coins (especially in American and British ones) is not such a bad idea.
I do not regard this as something that can bring me a large income, and even a small one, but simply saving money. Even if not all of them.
I'm talking about old coins. I'm not touching on new mint issues.
I believe that together with the historical value and value of metal, they can serve as an excellent material for saving and preserving money.
What do you think about it ?

for you my friend your situation differ to most people I'm not sure what is unloved in your area, but I doubt many of the coins would be cheap. I believe a lot of the kopecks are quite interesting but not this is not to say you should go out and buy them maybe even the horde stuff if you like that sort of stuff since it should exist good numbers, then again if you like the British stuff you have some idea of the mintages and the some idea of the rarity involved.

Note you want to be very selective in your choices of investment you want it to be some what easy to recognize not to obscure so that if you decide you might need to leave or take them with you, also to be able to keep them close enough so they aren't stolen or get rob from you.

Despite what people say that coins are poor investment and I detest it as it makes a lot of coins become pricey, I have been lucky enough to see that a lot of the Russian and Chinese coins that I own have shot up in value. A couple are easily in excess of 100 times so I cannot deny that it is a possibility.

What is important with coins as investment is to watch out for counterfeits and keeping them in good condition. No point buying coins and keep them in poor environment and they corrode.
