Is it a retained strike through or something else? Thanks in advance for any help.

There is something like a metal shaving lodged in the center of the "stain", just under the nose heading north west toward the eye. But I've got another coin with a different whatever this is. But if I'm wrong it wouldn't be the first time lol

John 1 might be right, as usual lol. I'm starting to think it might be a split in the copper plating and when it was washed the solution might've started some rot. So then I guess if that's the case, are they defective planchets then, or just junk?

I was actually serious about the match. It may have been something else but looks like extreme heat of some sort. You get about 800 degrees from a match and that would definitely split the plating. The red circle was where it came in contact with some sort of heat and the yellow arrows are a plating bubble where corrosion has started.

While I can see how you might think it's a match burn I can assure you that unless the mint, or the federal reserve, and or brinks burned the coins, then I'm sure it's not a match burn but out of 10,000 2022 pennies checked only 2 had these marks. here's the second one. But I'm definitely perplexed by it.
