1. If they are proof coins, they are not a SMS. 2. if they are from a mint set, they will have a 'D' mintmark on them. 3. If they are showing no mintmark, they could come from a normal mint set. Chances are, you were bait and switched on the purchase.

Would really like to see pics, even through the plastic case if no other alternative.

Makes no sense to bait and switch a 1967 SMS to 1964 for the simple reason there is only one 40% Silver Half dollar in the 1967 set.
There would be a 90% Silver 1964 Half Dollar, a 90% Silver Quarter and 90% Silver Dime in the 1964 Set.
Why would any seller switch a 1967 to a 1964 intentionally?
Seems like they sent you the wrong item by mistake.

thank you for all of you that responded.I will look into taking a picture but the plastic is beat up,chuckster125,i agree with bait and switch makes no sense for I only paid 7 dollars.I think because the package said 1967 that is what he went by and not checking inside, thank you coop for the examples I will try to compare them with the 1 cent.

Not a snowballs chance in Hades it is anything special . Unless of course it came from the Eva Adams or Lester Merkins Families . The 1964 SMS threads are up there with most wishful thinking Of them all . You are not going to find one in the wild .

The mint did not, 1. mint many SMS sets in 1964 - like less than 50 are believed to have been made, but estimates put that number at about 20. 2. they would have been in cello wrappings not a plastic case - the mint only started using hard plastic cases in 1966. 3. you most likely have 1964 business or proof strikes placed in an SMS case LONG after it left the mint.

$7 for a 1964 silver set is a excellent deal.

Welcome back MAC. For the SMS 1964 and 1965 In the next hour or two I will post about the Myth and the Reality's of those sets. I will just clean the mass after my Birthday's supper and me and my friend will stay to post this. The OP's must know and understand what was and not to be catch on different market scams.

I am not saying that I have a 1964sms set,but treasures are found all the time that people say can not happen.I wrote in to ask for your help not just no, or no chance in ...I will try to research my own. I know the odds are not there but would you just put the coins in a box and not being sure 100% ?

Would really love to see photos--plastic case notwithstanding. Can't offer a decent assessment without pics.

Those cases could be open easy. The really SMS must be broke. Almost finish the forum article.
