First impression is AU-58. Upon closer inspection, I see horizontal scratches around the date. That'll probably make it AU Details.

63 to these old eyes.
The scuffies in the obverse field, along with the digs in the shield on the reverse, kinda hurt it.
Still a nice coin!

NS, you need to check the scratches above the date as the marks may be to remove/hide graffiti.
The mundane comment is inappropriate.

The "mundane" comment was meant in jest. The OP owns many of the rarest US coins, and I always chide him for spending his valuable time on common date stuff like this. We go back and forth all the time in good spirit.

I don't see much luster that one would expect for this grade level. Perhaps due to the photography or lighting conditions?

I agree that it looks AU-MS detail, but the scan makes it appear flat.
