Is this a misaligned die obverse? Why is the reverse different? Is there any added value for this error?

Not a real coin. Looks like a silver round or fantasy coin.

I think these were done intentionally by Daniel Carr & the moonlight mint so not an error, kinda cool though.

It is not a Silver Eagle,it is a silver round. Looks like it might have been encased in a bezel at one time? John1

I'm told it's been certified by ANACS as an authentic overstruck silver eagle

Quote: I'm told it's been certified by ANACS as an authentic overstruck silver eagle It is true that anacs / icg certify these But they are Daniel Carr "fantasy" coins that are overstruck on real ASE's, Just look up daniel carr Misaligned Eagle. They are worth a pretty good premium over silver value as with most Daniel Carr Pieces.

I have heard of Daniel Carr, but have not seen this one done by him. I, too, learned something..

it is done my him, Daniel Carrs mint is "moonlight mint", theres a crescent moon on the reverse by the eagles tailfeathers. it could be a copy, but I'd think it's legit. http://www.moonlightmint.com/blog_2.htmit's die pair 21, struck offcenter intentionally, 1120 were struck, produced in April of 2021. Nice get, it's a keeper and certainly not just bullion melt!

Thanks Big-Kingdom. I just thought it was cool looking and I paid melt value times 2. Sounds like it could bring more than that though. Thanks again. RP
