This looked interesting so I figured share it and get a few opinions. Where the letters are missing from "America" on obverse there is a oddness to the planchette there.

It looks like a partially Grease Filled Die.
The holes are probably damage.

I was thinking a Grease Fill. I tried to recreate the area which looks like damage. I wonder if when the material for the planchette was produced if that area didn't combine properly. Due to a contaminate.

I was unable to reproduce a spot close with what I have available at hand.

Note the thinning of the rim on the near area? (K-1:00-3:00)That is Machine Doubling on that area. So if there is Machine Doubling it will be on the opposite sides of the devices on the coin. This had nothing to do with the grease on the die issue. So there can be more than one thing happening with your coin. None adds a premium for this coin. Knowing what affected the is the value as you will know it when you spot it again and can move on to the next coin. The the lesson learned by your coin.

Most Struck Through Grease or Grease Filled Die errors seem to add no value to most collectors. Was just a oddity like me I shared

Greasers are not considered errors or varieties. Unless very severe, they aren't collectible and carry no value above face. Keep searching!

Such as any item ever made some have a value to many. While some are collectable to a few no matter the value. The Nickel I also posted where it is so close to a "In God We rust" coin looks like the Sphinx with no nose.

May have as much value as pink camo in the woods. People like what people like. Plus nickels have a big intrinsic Value at the moment.
