Hey Everyone!
I found this coin a little while ago. It wasn't until I was randomly browsing Error-Ref reading about different types of clips that I fully understood what this coin actually was.

The coin weighs 2.6g. It's probably one of the most interesting coins I've found in a circulated roll. These types of errors don't seem to be very valuable (~$20) but it does sound like they're fairly rare to find especially in the wild. The coin also looks like it has at least 1 die chip.

I thought the coin was interesting enough to be worth sharing with the community.

Let me know if you want to see any other pictures of the coin. I'm happy to upload more.

Quite a nice find! Since tapered planchets are generally associated with the edge of the roll, straight clips are natural to find on them since they also are associated with the edge of the roll. But it's still fairly uncommon, as most tapered planchets don't have the clip.

IMO it's not a clip, at least not by the Mint.
For one that size I would definitely expect to see the Blakesley Effect.

Note the obverse is showing the Blakesley affect. The reverse looks more like a tilted die issue on the area in question, so it altered the rim on the reverse. Looks like a contact mark altered the edge on the straight clip area. Note the edge shot.

Not all clips show the effect. I think most of the weight loss is due to the tapper. Nice find.

Straight clips in particular are known for not having a profound Blakesley effect.
