Almost seems plated.

@fenton, The laser-cut die counterfeit for this date is a silver plated copper/lead/zinc core.

From the pics I say fake as well. Details not right. Pictures are definitely not showing this coin properly if it is real.

I don't know, the details look strong and it looks real to me. I'm thinking that perhaps the so called textured field isn't textured at all but rather mottled toning? Plus the title says it is slabbed. If it is slabbed by a reputable TPG it has to be genuine I would think unless it is a counterfeit slab. Waiting for the reveal.

I think what we are seeing is low res pictures that have been enlarged, which often causes similar effects.

If you want to see what I mean, take a photo that's, say, 400x400 or 500x500 and use Photoshop or similar to enlarge it to something like 1000x1000

From the pictures here, the reverse looks more like a 58. Obverse fields do look a little strange but overall I like it for the grade and nice early date too.

Maybe in hand it looks authentic. Those pics still make it just look wrong.

The label on the back of the slab looks ripped up a bit on the left side, but I see no definite signs of tampering. Does anyone know whether these labels are applied on the inside or the outside of this style of ANACS holder?
