The seemingly endless varieties of quarters, in both the US and Canada, help keep saving/collecting these interesting.

Early Half Cents were perfect in many ways. Size, design.

Favorite U.S. coin denomination?

Chuck E Cheese tokens.

My second favorite is the half dollar, particularly for it's size and silver content. Not as heavy and expensive as a dollar.

I find that searching nickel rolls offers the most options in finding different kinds of old nickels; penny rolls are to a lesser extent.

Half dollar rolls more often have silver mines inside of them.

As a wee lad, I remember sucking on and swallowing many a cent, so I guess that could be considered my favorite denomination. Of course, growing up poor, pennies were all that made it into my mouth, as a nickel would buy a full sized chocolate bar or a pack of Mars Attacks cards.

It is also a good choice for completing a set from circulation.
