I've attached three wheats and I'm trying to better understand the look of a cleaned coin. I'm thinking the first is good, the second questionable and the third, though it looks pretty cool in hand, has been cleaned. What do you think?

I agree with all three of your ideas.

Did the 3 coins come out of the same set ( folder or album )? To be honest with you none of them look cleaned ,but their seems to be something not quite right with their color .

They came out of two by twos. The discrepancy in photos could be me, not the best lighting conditions.

The VDB looks great, no issues.

The 13-S is suspect, hard to tell much with those pictures but it looks "too good" and has likely been tampered with.

The 20-D is suspect but I've seen these tone oddly before. I'm on the fence with these pics.

They all need to be cleaned to tell for sure if they've had a bad cleaning or not. A soak in acetone should do it.

That '13-S could be a low grade Unc under all that cigarette tar.

I'm guessing they're all good but the '20-D is a little suspect.

Since you figured out how to post pics...practice cropping them...would give us a better idea instead of so much background.
The 13-S has some potential...
