Sometimes I feel silly posting these questions, but I'm really not familiar with this series and the gunmetal grey color has me thinking it is better to ask the experts. Some of the PCGS photograde examples have the stars that look stretched out as well. This is at a local auction, so I was thinking I might be able to get it at a reasonable price to put in the type set (if it is genuine). Thoughts?

Looks absolutely genuine, but not the most attractive toning. It appears to be an O-111 variety.

Looks good to me and I like the toning. A light circulation cameo.

Definitely genuine, the only major counterfeits of this series are contemporary counterfeits that are very easy to spot.

Average strike, later die state, old cleaning but toned over, all of which are extremely common for the series. This is not a bad coin for a type set, as long as you get it for the right price.

The stars start out normal and get drawn out toward the rim as the die wears.

Genuine, I'd say VF-30/35.
