A Congressman has proposed a US commemorative coin program to honor dogs in 2023.

From Coin World:

Dogs could receive 2023 commemorative coin program
Published: Oct 6, 2021, 11 AM

Legislation was introduced for a three-coin commemorative program for 2023 recognizing working dogs in the military and their continued service after retirement from active duty.

The legislation, H.R. 5232, was introduced Sept. 10 in the House by Rep. Patrick T. McHenry and referred to the Committee on Financial Services for further consideration.

I'm holding out for a future quarter series devoted to each state's most iconic (cheesy?) roadside attraction.

Don't give them any ideas!

They did State Quarters, up next county/parish quarter program.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE!
"US Mint announces new county quarter program. US Mint will issue 5 new quarters per year for the next 649 years to highlight each of the 3,243 county/parish or county equivalent in the United States"

They are getting creative with coin designs...

How about coins commemorating the greatest fast food chains of all time?

This is for 2023 commemorative coins, not a new series. Therefore, this topic has been moved to the appropriate forum for the proper attention.

I would love A Commemorative to honor military working dogs. Having been a dog handler back in the early 70s. These dogs are unbelievable in what they can do.

There were one ounce silvers issued, a couple of years ago, in the shape of the old route 66 signs that included the most iconic roadside attraction for each state the highway passed through. Maybe they could use those as a starting point.

There hasn't been any action on the bill since it was introduced last September. I wonder how much support it has?

Uncyclopedia on county quarters (brief), Onion on county pennies (in much detail). Both 2005.

It does sound like an interesting idea, to be honest...
