Greetings all! My girl and I came across this little anomaly but are unsure if there's any value here or if it's just a junk coin. Have never seen an error like this so any input/advice would be greatly appreciated.

Looks like corrosion follow by a round or two in the dryer.

I originally thought corrosion as well but the way the edges are raised, and don't show the same pattern as the faces, leaves me wondering if this could've happened at the mint.

"If only coins could talk," is something you'll hear a lot on here. Very unusual damage, for sure, but we may never know how (after leaving the Mint) it happened.

Nothing in the minting process would produce this. After the mint people make all sorts of strange looking things.
Just damage. :(
